About Vorex

About seven years ago, the gap in the marketplace between incredibly expensive, complex business management solutions for large enterprises and inadequate, overly simplistic products targeting small to mid-sized businesses (SMBs) became so noticeable that our management team was spurred into action.

Some of the best and brightest brains in professional services automation (PSA) and project management put their heads together to bridge that industry gap. Vorex was founded on the principle that every SMB, no matter how small, deserves access to sophisticated and powerful business management software that isn’t too complicated to easily streamline day-to-day operations and won’t break the bank.

Through an intuitive, feature-rich platform, Vorex offers PSA and project management software that makes it easy for project managers, business owners, CIOs and managed service providers (MSPs) to manage, grow and track their businesses in a single location. This approach enables business owners to focus on the strategy required to move their businesses forward, empowering them to better serve customers, boost productivity, streamline processes and improve profitability.

Our History

In 2007, Vorex founder and CEO, Michael Salem, left his position as the assistant vice president for Bank of America’s Dallas office to develop the first version of Vorex. During his more than 20 year career with large and resource-rich corporations such as Bank of America and Sprint, Salem identified a way he could bring some of those enterprise-level resources to the SMB.

Upon Vorex’s inception in 2007, Salem gathered a small team of developers and spent the first year and a half focused exclusively on developing the product. He interviewed SMB owners for insight and asked them to conduct testing to ensure the very first sale Vorex made was of an outstanding product.

To this day, Vorex maintains a culture of carefully listening to customer needs and continual product improvements that meet specific pain points. At Vorex, we don’t tell you how to run your business – you tell us. Our job is to create the ideal software to help you thrive.

About the Team

Michael Salem – Founder and CEO

Michael Salem founded Vorex in 2007 to fill an SMB need by using his deep expertise in business management software.

During his tenure with large, resource-rich corporations like Bank of America and Sprint, Michael identified a way he could bring some of those enterprise-level resources to the SMB. He developed a passion for filling a gap he saw in the marketplace between incredibly expensive, complex business management solutions for enterprises and inadequate, overly simplistic ones for SMBs. His desire to help other business owners led him to leave his assistant vice president position to launch Vorex and follow his entrepreneurial dreams.

Michael’s career in project management, professional service automation (PSA), IT solutions and risk management spans more than 20 years. His first job was as a programmer for Sprint, where he worked his way up to a senior manager position in just two years. Michael moved from Sprint to MBNA, which was later acquired by Bank of America, where he eventually held multiple managerial positions. His corporate career has given him insight, expertise and a passion for delivering enterprise-level business tools to SMBs. This passion lives on in making Vorex the best business management tool in the marketplace.

Michael graduated from the University of Oklahoma with a degree in management information systems and has built on this foundation with continuing education classes at George Washington University.
